Enjoy!
The rain is falling again in the Mara, which is as good an excuse as any for me to remain focused on my writing instead of spending my time out in the reserve. Still, I thought it would be nice to start posting some photos from our time here, beginning with this small collection of lion shots. I have had the privilege of being able to spend a fair bit of time with these wonderful cats - particularly with the members of the Kichwa Pride - and I'll miss them and their tree-climbing antics when I leave. There has been a lot of drama with our big cats this year: the loss of a large number of cubs, take-overs, matings and squabbles. It will feel a bit strange to get in the car and not go looking for lions when I get back to Europe again... driving down to the village for baguettes and cheese will not be quite as exciting. Enjoy.
